The Pantry and Clothes Closet at Central

“Without the pantry, it would have been impossible. Coming to the pantry feels like ‘going to Mom’s.’”

— Neighbor Ira

“This is faith in action, planned out and anticipating the needs of those to come. This is the way that Central Presbyterian, through its pantry, prepares the way for the Lord.”

-Pantry Co-Coordinator Colleen

Since 1970, Central has operated a food pantry on Wednesday mornings (9:00 – 11:00am) that provides groceries and fresh produce to over 100 neighborhood households each month. Pantry patrons may also select items of clothing, housewares, and hygiene products from the extensive Clothes Closet. We also assist neighbors in enrolling in the food stamp program.

We have partnered with organizations such as Harvesters, Kanbe’s Market, Oak Street Health, Bridging the Gap, and countless others. These organizations, our faithful volunteers, and generous donors help keep our doors open to provide a much needed and highly sought out resource for our neighbors.
