Session

The Session is the governing body of the Church and consists of the pastor and duly elected members whose term of office has commenced and not expired.

Administrative Committee

Mission: Support the mission of Central through the wise stewardship and efficient use of the church’s resources and develop and implement dynamic communication of the church’s mission.

Members of our Admin committee oversee general operations of Central through financial planning and record keeping, hiring of and supporting personnel, and communications.

Building and Grounds Committee

Mission: As Central Presbyterian, located in the urban Hyde Park neighborhood of Kansas City, begins its second century, this committee remains devoted to preserving this historic property and imagining how it may serve the congregation and community in the future.

Members of our B&G Committee oversee building improvements and projects, maintain the beautification of the Central campus, welcome tenants of non-profit organizations, and support Earth Care initiatives and programs.

Church Life Committee

Mission:  Building vitality through interpersonal connections and meaningful worship.

All who enter our doors are part of Church Life. The committee supports discipleship and our Worship and Music departments, encourages and organizes fellowship gatherings, and seeks ways to connect with mission-minded organizations and events within our community.

Outreach Committee

Mission: Bringing light through giving, partnerships, and social witness.

The Outreach Committee oversees our Matthew 25 pledge to provide for our neighbors in meaningful ways and to care for the earth, a gift given to us through God’s Creation. We greet neighbors weekly in our pantry and clothes closet, maintain a community garden, engage in social justice efforts, and find ways to connect with our community through volunteer opportunities.
