Central Presbyterian Church
Joyfully bringing people together, celebrating our diversity in race, gender, age, sexual orientation, nationality, faith background, education and abilities.
Our practice is to meet you where you are and to strive to see in each person the face of Christ. Central Presbyterian is a More Light congregation. Following the risen Christ, and seeking to make the church a true community of hospitality, the mission of More Light Presbyterians is to work for the full participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people of faith in the life, ministry and witness of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and in society.
We live our spiritual communion in the fun, mutual care and genuine friendship members share with one another. An adult education class meets each Sunday at 9 a.m. prior to worship. Two women’s groups meet for study and fellowship, one at church the second Friday morning of each month and the other virtually (by conference call) the first Tuesday evening of each month. We meet each other in the community at various pubs and eateries for a Holy Happy Hour once a month. The Central Young Adults (you decide if you are ‘young’) meet one Wednesday a month for Bible study. Friends and visitors are welcome at all of Central’s events.
